Noël & Nadine are the parents of Dries, Tim & Fien and are the ones who shaped Het Waterland to what it has become today. Nothing would have been possible without them. Both at the moment are enjoying their retirement, but remain true “Het Waterlands” fans and still play an important role in today’s operational activities.

Dries is a corporate entrepreneur with a passion for agribusiness. He, holding an executive MBA from IE Business school and a Master in Accounting from the University of Ghent, has a profound experience and expertise in leading large organizations and is keen on driving change in agribusiness as well as other organizations through an agile and lean approach. He has always maintained a hands on mentality, through which he kept having a good understanding and knowhow of what happens at all levels.

Tim is the hands on guy and true engineer behind the Waterlanders. With a Master in Industrial Engineering from the University of Ghent he has initially pursued his interest in electro mechanics. This in combination with passion for farming ensures a smooth continuation of all activities after our father’s retirement. Thanks to his more than 10 years of experience as an engineer and a project manager in the field of industrial engineering, he is able to develop a solution for every kind of problem. His lifelong passion is to reconnect a consumer and a producer, while ensuring sustainable development and progress.
The taste buds
F n & J o n a s
Fien is the creative and most spirited individual of the whole family; we believe that she inherited this exciting mix from both of our parents. Fien graduated with a master of arts (Textile) and educational master from the University of Ghent and is currently a teacher at the art academy in knokke. Often you can find her in the art corner of Ghent libraries. Her partner Jonas has extraordinary taste buds and is a renowned Chef, who has worked at several Michelin level restaurants. Together they renovated an old house to give path to their dream – the restaurant Tafel Twaalf.
